In 1900, the congregation of the Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Church purchased a building on South Ohio Avenue (two blocks south of Broad Street), and just two years later in 1902, they began a church school in the church basement: Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy.
By 1910 the school had outgrown its basement location, but thanks to the generous donation of land by Mr. & Mrs. Seibert, the school constructed its first building on the corner of Union and Ryan. EJA continued to grow, and in 1950 an addition was built onto the school.
In 1961, land was purchased farther east of downtown and a new school was built on 270 Napoleon Avenue. The church and school moved into the new facility in the fall, and worship services were held in the school until construction of the new church was complete.
On August 5th, 2005, a new property was purchased at 6400 S. Sunbury Rd., Westerville, Ohio – this time not just land, but a whole house. This house was transformed into the Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Church we see today, and their first worship service was held at the new location on December 3rd, 2005.
Early the next spring, construction of the new school began. Three days of school were held in the church before finally, on August 28th, 2006, we had our first day of school in our new and final home at 6350 S. Sunbury Rd.

The Eastwood SDA Junior Academy family exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve.
Philosophy
Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:
- develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
- master the basic academic skills
- value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
- cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.
Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy operates in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Accreditation
Eastwood SDA Junior Academy is a Charter School in Franklin County in the State of Ohio. It is accredited
by the Adventist Accrediting Association and the National Council for Private School Accreditation.

They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. As an adult, Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and rose from the dead on the third day, winning victory over sin for everyone.
When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.
Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is important to Him.
