Ms. Nicolaus - 1st & 2nd Grade.

Vickie Nicolaus is beginning her 35th year of teaching. Ms. Nicolaus graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education & Social Studies, with a minor in Home Economics. Ms. Nicolaus has taught at EJA since 1976, including Grades K-3; Music for Grades K-8, and Home Economics for Grades 9-10. In addition to serving her local church as an Elder and Sabbath School leader in the Children’s Division, Ms. Nicolaus has been an active volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House until 2006. Her goal is to teach until Jesus comes!

   

Ms. Rumsey - 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade.

Marsha Rumsey has over 28 years of experience in teaching. Ms. Rumsey graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Southern Adventist College, and earned her Masters degree from Southern Adventist University in 2000. An Ohio native and an alumnus of Mount Vernon Academy, Ms. Rumsey enjoys reading, bird watching, and helping others.

   

Mrs. Taylor - Kindergarten.

Wendy Taylor was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. She attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Ms. Taylor has taught every grade Pre-K through Eighth, mostly in the multi-grade setting. Additionally, she formerly served as administrator and co-director of Stepping Stones Learning Center in Worthington, Ohio.

Mr. Carlos - 6th, 7th & 8th Grade.

J Michael Carlos has 12 years of experience in teaching, and is currently earning his Masters degree from Otterbein College. After graduating from Southern Adventist University with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Mr. Carlos had the unique opportunity of teaching in the missionary fields of Guam-Micronesia. He taught for 4 years at Guam Adventist Academy and for 3 years at Chuuk SDA School. Mr. Carlos has coached Middle School basketball, volleyball, as well as track and field.
